Love Hockey Ireland are hosting a public information event on Sunday 26th April 2015 1pm at The Rink Sports Arena Portadown.
At the event we will be unveiling plans for our Self funded Pilot Youth Development Programme. We are looking to recruit a team of volunteers to help us deliver the various aspects of the programme. The pilot programme is due to operate over a 5 week period this summer, and will be targeted at 8 – 12 year olds.
The pilot programme will focus on bringing young people from all backgrounds together over the 5 week period to learn the sport of Roller Hockey whilst gaining life skills from developing and implementing a fundraising strategy plan to contribute towards the sustainability of the programme.
During this five weeks there will be 14 sessions held. The programme will be reaching out in particular to young people from social economic deprived areas but is open to all 8-12 year olds.
Appropriate training will be provided to all volunteers.
During the 5 weeks their will be 2 sessions per week, we do not expect all volunteers to attend all sessions, and we will work with each volunteer on scheduling.
Details of some of the roles available are shown below:
Volunteers must have previous hockey experience and be a minimum of 16 years old to apply for this opportunity.
